CASE STUDY · LSPL, PUNE

A helium leak testing machine with no separate PLC.

LSPL (Leckpreufung Systems) has built helium leak test machines since 2010. Their production machine is now engineered entirely in Logivyx — operator screens, P&ID process view, sequence-driven auto cycle, generated alarms and settings, and batch reports — running on a single industrial panel PC.

THE CHALLENGE

Two systems for every machine.

A conventional leak tester needs an HMI panel and a PLC CPU — two purchases, two engineering tools and licences, tags kept in sync by hand, and fault-finding split across two systems.

THE RESULT

One project file, one panel PC.

The PLC CPU is gone from the bill of materials. Screens and logic share one tag database, and engineers trace a fault from the operator screen to the ladder rung without switching software.

AUTO screen with gross leak, helium background and leak test results per chamber
AUTO screen — gross leak, background and helium leak results per stage, outputs and initial conditions.
Process P&ID screen with valves, vacuum chamber and gas lines
Process P&ID — valves, vacuum chamber and gas lines of a standard HLT variant.
Auto-generated settings screen with min, max, dwell and max-time per step
Auto-generated settings — one grid per sequence step; Min / Max / Dwell / Max-Time tags created automatically.
Leak test results screen with helium fill and leak values for coil on and coil off
Results screen — N₂ pressure checks and helium leak test, with trend history and scanned data.
